As many times as I’ve heard my mother critique the cost of Lush products and insist I could get the same results from drugstore products, I couldn’t disagree with her more. If there is any Lush product I’m willing to shell out the extra bucks for, it’s haircare. I only trust Lush’s violet Daddy-O Shampoo to care for my long blonde locks!
This liquid shampoo comes in a classic Lush bottle in 3.3, 8.4, or 16.9 fl oz. The product is easy to dispense, although the bottle can get a little slippery in the shower! The smallest size is ideal for travel or if you want to give it a try before purchasing a full size.
This shampoo lathers into mountains of purple bubbles as you massage it into your scalp! The fluffy froth leaves your hair feeling well cleansed and smelling gorgeous.
Daily Longevity (How many hours will this product be effective?)
This keeps my hair feeling clean and smelling lovely for at least two to three days.
Product Longevity (How many uses will this product last?)
I use about a quarter sized dollop in the center of my palm, starting at my scalp and spreading to my ends. It’s plenty, even for my long, thick hair. I try to wash only every 2-3 days, and a 16.9 fl oz bottle lasts me about 3-4 months.
As all Lush products are, this shampoo is considerably pricier than a drugstore product, but I find it well worth the price. At $29.95 for the 16.9 fl oz bottle, it’s comparable to many salon and high end shampoos.
This shampoo is a deep violet color that will give you a bright purple lather and may splatter like paint on your shower curtain, but fear not! It does not stain, and actually makes for a colorful shower experience.
Daddy-O has a bright violet and citrus fragrance that fills your bathroom and lingers in your hair for days.
Who is this product for? What are its best uses?
Daddy-O is best for people with fine hair and combats brassiness in blondes and grays, although anyone can use it!
This shampoo gets a few extra points for being handmade from an ethical company with fair trade, vegan ingredients.
If you’re looking to brighten your blonde or gray hair and are willing to drop a few extra bucks on quality shampoo, I definitely recommend you give this a try.
